Voltage Regulator, Valeo

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783/)


Follow the procedure in the Repair Information when disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

• Check the generator.

Removal

- Remove generator.

- Remove clamping rings - arrows - and remove protective cap from generator.






- Remove mounting bolts of voltage regulator - arrows - (2 Nm).






- Take voltage regulator out of generator.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Release retaining tabs - arrows - and remove the cap from voltage regulator.






- Push carbon brushes into voltage regulator housing and insert voltage regulator into generator.

- Tighten all the threaded connections to the tightening specification.

- Slide the cap into guide rails - arrows - until it engages audibly.
